egarding the request about food exhibitions/programs in museums, contact
Shirley Cherkasky at the National Museum of American History.  She's done
numerous programs related to food over the years, including: Cuisines and
Culture, Good as Gold: Foods the Americas Gave the World and probably the
shellfish one recently mentioned.  Call 202-357-2124 and ask to be transfered.
Also, you may want to check with the Office of Folklife Programs, both at the
Smithsonian and the Library of Congress.  The SI folk festival always deals in
someway with foodways.  Bon apetite!
