This is nothing new to any of us!  Many internships require enrollment in,
or completion of, a masters program.  That is experience.  What about
volunteering or working as a practicum for credit?

As I understand it, people compete for internships.  Museums get many
applications and then make a selection.  On what is that selection to be
based, if not on qualifications, resume material . . . experience?
