Title: Research Intern
Supervisor: Director of Exhibits

General Function
Under general supervision, work as part of creative team in the Museum’s
Exhibits Department. This is an unpaid Intern position. The Research Intern
will work primarily with the Exhibits Department, Library, and Arvhival
Staff to help research artifacts that are designated by Exhibits Staff as
possibilities for display in future exhibits.

Qualifications
Enrolement in a Bachelors degree program in Museum Studies, History,
Library Science or related field.
Strong knowledge of avation history desired.
Good computer skills and experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet,
and other common programs.
Highly organized to support the Exhibits departments.
Good communication and human relations skills are important to the
successful performance of this position.
Careful attention to detail.

Principal Activities
1. Work with the Exhibits Staff to identify and perform provenance research
for designated artifacts in the Museum’s collection.
2. Work with volunteers and staff toward the general operations of the
Exhibits Departments.
3. Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Condition
Portions of the day will require either working at a computer station, or
in the Museum’s Library conducting research. The Research Intern will be
part of a professional team in a dynamic and fast-paced atmosphere.

Education, Experience and Training
Enrolement in a Bachelor’s degree program in Museum Studies, History,
Library Science, or related field, with enrollment in Museum Studies,
History, or Library Science Masters program preferred.  Knowledge of
exhibits procedures, and avation history desired. Computer skills and
experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, and other common
programs. Experience in office organization and support.
