The use of microwaves to deal with mold has been throughly discussed on
the Cons DistList over the past 2-3 week.  Search the archives at the

Generally, I believe it was determined that microwaving is not for use
on valuable material that must retain its shape or composition after
treatment.  Individual experimental successes were possible and
reported, however, great experience was needed and great care must be
taken.
