You don't look stupid! I have worked with organizations similar to yours and we called them traveling trunks. Basically, you get a container, anything from a big Rubbermaid bin to trunk, you then fill it with artifact (that are ok to destroy), copies of primary documents, books, etc. all accompanied by lesson plans and activities. You can then rent or loan them out to area schools, home schoolers, day camps, etc. The possibilities of themes and people who would want to use them are endless.
