I work at a small university art center where we exhibit contemporary
art in three galleries that range from fully controlled lighting, to a
fair amount of daylight that creeps in. We are looking to buy a digital
video projector for ourselves to exhibit video work. We are looking
within the $1200 - $1800 price range.

After researching the possibilities I have narrowed it down to two
projectors: the Optoma EZ Pro 739 DLP, and the Epson PowerLite 81P LCD.
Both projectors have comparable specs and replacement bulb prices, but
the DLP seems to offer the best contrast (2000:1 vs. 400:1). However,
since DLP is a newer technology, I'm a bit nervous spending our precious
budget. Does anyone have experience with DLP vs. LCD projectors and/or
have any recommendations? Thank you for your time.
