Hubble Finds Cloudy, Cold Weather Conditions For Mars Pathfinder Landing

The Hubble Space Telescope is continuing its surveillance of
Martian weather in support of the Pathfinder project. Hubble observations
indicate very different landing conditions than those found by the Viking
mission 21 years ago. This information is being used by the Pathfinder
project to adjust the lander's flight path and plan surface operations.

The latest results are being released in a Space Science Update
(SSU) today (May 20) at 1:00 PM EDT. The SSU will be broadcast on NASA TV.
See the press release on the World Wide Web at:

NOTE: Given the popular topic and the SSU, we expect significant press
coverage of this release.
