<There's something that you may be able to help me with. I'm looking to
train as a curator in science up to and including the early modern period
(i.e. pre-18th century), but am having a lot of trouble finding
museums in the area. It gets more complicated again when I'm wanting one
with an attached PhD programme, and a scholarship to fund it.
I know that some exist:

Museum of Scientific Instruments, Harvard
l'Istituto e museo di storia delle scienze, Florence
Whipple Museum, Cambridge
History of Science Museum, Oxford
Boerhaave Museum, Leiden
Deutsches Museum, Munich
Steno Museum, Aarhus

But funding to visit - even as an intern, resident trainee or short-contract
staff member - is nearly non-existent. And as a New Zealander, my country
doesn't maintain the diplomatic relations necessary for much exchange
programme funding.

If you have any leads - to either museums, universities or funding sources -
I'd be most grateful to hear of them.>

Please email Alistair direct at this address if you have any suggestions:
