I looked at the Sotheby's reference and found that it had no relevance
to my concerns about the conduct of professional appraisals. It's just a
general discussion of the most important factors which jointly influence
market values--not how an appraiser obtains them. It certainly doesn't
address the issue of the legitimacy of "value of materials" when there
