One main focus of our Introduction to Museum Studies course is current issues. I use Museum News and Museum-L as well as Art Education, Curators, etc. extensively. It means I have to update materials for the class each year, but it also keeps the course fresh. I often archive
materials from previous years for use in papers or comparisons. A couple of thing I include each year include Excellence and Equity, standard texts like Burcaw, Stephen Weil, and Beverly Serrels book on labels. A new piece I added this year was "Museum as CAtalyst for
Interdisciplinary Collabration" and the new materials on Outcome-based Evaluation.
