  ?Engaging Intelligence: The Elements of Interest in Live Presentation?

Roy Underhill, former Director of Interpretive Development for the
Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, will explore museum presentation
techniques, focusing on seven factors that increase audience interest.

The seminar will examine the behavior of guides, docents and living
history interpreters, and how they can better enable audiences to engage
with museum resources. Underhill will discuss his research, based on
videotapes of presenters and audiences, as well as demonstrating his
video analysis, feedback and training techniques.

Underhill is currently Chair of the Cultural Interpretation and Living
History section of the National Association of Interpretation. He is the
author of the upcoming book, "Minds-On!: Engaging the Intelligence of
Others."
