I will leave it to the botanists on the list to comment on the validity of
the techniques recommended, but I did just acquire this very charming book
from one of my favorite on-line bookstores (www.doverpublications.com):

Collecting and Preserving Plants
Ruth B. (Alford) MacFarlane
Price $7.95
ISBN: 0486282813
Page Count: 184
Dimensions: 5 3/8 x 8 1/2
"Expert, hands-on guide to collecting for scientific, craft and ornamental
purposes. Identification, mounting, display, many other aspects."

Do any of the botanical experts on the list have an opinion about the book?
It has directors for mounting and drying plants, as well as other plant
preservation techniques, with references to flowers.
