Position opening for MLS/administrator

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR of the Western New York Library Resources Council, a
not-for-profit consortium of libraries and library systems serving six
counties, chartered by the New York State Board of Regents in 1966, governed
by a volunteer Board of Trustees. Member libraries include over 75
corporate, academic, hospital and other special libraries, and school and
public library systems. Responsibilities include: strategic and financial
planning, grant writing, program development and implementation,
administration of operations and staff, legislative advocacy and liaison,
services to and support of member libraries, and collaborative activities
and/or consortia building within the region.

Requirements: ALA accredited MLS and at least eight years professional
library experience, at least 2 of which have been in an administrative
capacity. Must have effective communication skills, the ability to design
innovative programs, and experience in planning for and managing new
technologies. Background in developing and working with library consortia
and/or other collaborative projects is preferred. Proven budgeting, grant
writing, and personnel skills are essential. Strong leadership skills and
the ability to envision and articulate future possibilities for member
libraries are required.

Salary: commensurate with qualifications and experience. Comprehensive
fringe benefits package.
