the OMNICIRCUS PERFORMANCE SPACE and GATE 6 RECORDINGS present
a live performance by DeusMachina
a new multimedia dance-ritual with robots
ORGY of DOUBT

by Frank Garvey

Here is critical reaction to Garvey's work:

SEASONS of the VEIL is a masterpiece
for the 21st century.
-SF Bay Guardian

SEASONS of the VEIL is the work of a protean genius.
-Anderson Valley Advertiser

Garvey peppers his talk about art with talk about politics and vice versa
and somewhere around the intersection of the two emerges his conviction
that art should serve the needs of the people. Accordingly, one approaches
his concert not knowing whether to expect it to provoke thought or to
assault the ears. But one leaves it with a need fulfilled - the perennial
human need for music to provide the soul with a mystifying, uplifting,
ennobling experience...it is pure, emotionally charged, heartsearing,
absolute music.
-Chicago Reader

Frank Garvey's Seasons of the Veil is a masterpiece in the expression and
presentation of emotion and depth of feeling.
-Electronic Music Newsletter

Garvey's compositional strengths, coupled with a concern for social issues
reflected in his music, establishes him as one of America's most important
electronic composers.
                                                                -AEON

The OMNICIRCUS production company is proud to present a preview of ORGY of
DOUBT, a new robotic dance-ritual work by Frank Garvey, performed by the
DeusMachina music ensemble with Erin Kupferman, Daniel Berkman, Jeremy X
and Lee Groban and dancer extraordinare Leticia. The group is joined by the
amazing ROBOTIC ENSEMBLE of the OMNICIRCUS, which will combust their
infernal cavalcade of accompaniment with GOBOY, the robot beggar, PLOWGIRL,
the mechanical junkie,
GODFELLA the robotic street preacher and the mechanical vermin of certainty
the ONE- LEGGED MEN at a BUTT KICKING CONTEST. The Robotic Ensemble, whose
creators are Jeff Weber, Aaron Edsinger, Carl Pisaturo and Frank Garvey,
will be joined for the first time by SLAVE 1, a new creation by Carl
Pisaturo and Garvey, which dances in a graceful robotic pas-de-deux with
his eternal lover SLAVE 0, in an inspiring and profound, (albeit somewhat
mechanistic), refutation of the theory that artistic souls cannot become
soul mates for life.
