***FREE Preservation Classes for Gulf Coast Academic Libraries Only*** 
 

In an effort to promote disaster preparedness and recovery near the gulf
coast, SOLINET is offering a series of FREE Preservation classes from
Spring to Fall 2007 as a part of its participation in the Gulf Coast
Academic Library Recovery Project. Topics range from basic preservation
to disaster preparedness and evaluating and selecting products and
services. Classes will be announced periodically as scheduled.


April - May Classes:


INTRODUCTION TO GRANTS FOR PRESERVATION (Live Online)
Date: Monday, April 30, 2007
Place and Time: Live Online Class, 10 am to 12 pm EST 


EVALUATING PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
Date: Thursday, May 3, 2007
Place and Time: State Library of Louisiana, Baton Rouge, LA,  9 am to 4
pm EST 


DISASTER PREPAREDNESS AND RECOVERY
Date: Tuesday & Wednesday, May 22-23, 2007 
Place and Time: The Historic New Orleans Collection, New Orleans, LA,  9
am to 4 pm EST 

 

**Only academic libraries in the Gulf Coast (LA,MS,TX,AL) are eligible
for free registration.  Other applicants will be added to a waiting list
and may be admitted at the standard fee.
