I am posting this for someone not on the list:

Executive Director: The Friends of the Middle Border is a non-profit
organization operating the FMB Museum of American Indian and Pioneer Life,
the Case Dakota Art Gallery, and four historic buildings. The Friends
of the Middle Border is seeking a dynamic executive director with a proven
history of success in management, marketing, programming, and develop-
ment. The successful candidate will bring strong administrative, organ-
izational, and communication skills to the position, have basic accounting
knowledge and personal computer skills, and have the ability to interact
with the area's communities and other museums. An ideal background will
include a relevant bachelor of arts degree, experience in museum/business/
arts administration, and a demonstrated passion for history, education,
and culture. Salary range $20,000 - $30,000, based on experience. Send
cover letter, resume, and names of three references in confidence to:
Search Committee, Friends of the Middle Border Museum, PO Box 1071,
Mitchell, SD 57301. Deadline for applications is February 20, 1997.

++++++++++++++

This is me talking: Mitchell is a nice community, about an hour from
Sioux Falls, South Dakota's biggest city. South Dakota is a place where
a little money usually goes a much longer way than on either of the
coasts, so the salary is not outrageously low.

Worth considering for anyone who is looking for a challenge.
