The Waterworks Visual Arts Center is a nonprofit organization (501(c)3),
whose primary mission is to provide opportunities in art for all citizens
within the region through exhibitions, classes, and outreach programs.
Located in historic Salisbury, just off I-85 midway between Charlotte and
Greensboro, the WVAC seeks an Executive Director to manage its programs and
operations, pursuing the Center’s goal of regional recognition and its
development as a cultural destination. Responsibilities include overall
management of the center and its staff, curating exhibitions, developing
educational activities, and expanding resource development. Accredited by
the American Association of Museums, the Center has been in its new 15,000
sq. ft. facility for 18 months and is poised for the “next level.”
Qualifications: bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred, in a
relevant field, such as museum/arts center management, art history, or fine
arts; strong communications skills; and a minimum of five years museum/art
center administrative experience. Salary negotiable, depending upon
