You might try to get hold of Miscast. Negotiating the presence of Busmen
1996 Edited by Pippa Skotnes and published by University of Cape Town
Press Private Bag Rondebosh 7700 South Africa. It is a series of essays
accompanying an exhibition in the National Gallery in Cap Town. Another
possible contact is Patricia Davison, an anthropologist at the South
African Museum whose PhD dissertation, Material culture, context and
meaning. A critical investigation of museum practise, with particular
reference to the South African Museum (1991) deals with the Bushmen
Diorama for which this museum is famous/notorious and on which
Miscast is based. I know she has subsequently done more work on this
