Rick: the best way to break into the museum field as a student is to
volunteer or become an intern. This gives the field a chance to get to know
you and gives you an opportunity to see all the varied aspects of the
profession. Without experience, it is hard to get a museum job. And even
entry level positions require experience. So go be a volunteer or sign up for
a course that requires an internship. And don't expect to be paid during
your internship, although most of your time should be spent in a meaningful
way.
