Director of Interpretation. The Genesee Country Village & Museum, one of 
the largest living history museums in the U.S., seeks an energetic and 
innovative museum professional to direct, coordinate, supervise and 
evaluate its interpretive programs focusing on 19th-century American life.

This position presents opportunities for active participation in the 
development and implementation of new integrated programs for audiences 
of all ages, using the considerable resources of the Historic Village, 
Nature Center, and John L. Wehle Art Gallery. For more information about

The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal, budget 
management, and team-working skills as well as excellent verbal and 
written communication abilities. S/he will be able to juggle many tasks 
simultaneously, and will be experienced in meeting deadlines and budget 
and attendance goals. A graduate degree in history, museum studies, 
historic preservation or other relevant field and three years’ 
experience in museum programming, interpretation, or combination thereof 
required. A background in interpretation in a living history museum 
setting and experience in staff training and program evaluation strongly 
preferred. Salary commensurate with experience.
