The Museum Loan Network(MLN), a collection-sharing program funded by the
John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and The Pew Charitable Trusts and
administered by MIT's Office of the Arts, has just announced the awarding of
12 grants for a total of $130,587.  Recipients in this round included an
innovative collection-sharing collaboration between the
Clarksville-Montgomery County Museum in Tennessee and the neighboring
Cheekwood Museum of Art. The grant will enable the Clarksville community to
borrow and display works from the Cheekwood Museum on a long-term basis.
Other awards included a survey grant award to Chicago's Museum of
Contemporary Art to identify objects from its collection available for
long-term loan to be included in the MLN directory.
