Mr. Dill:
Your comment begs the question, why not hire from this type of posting?  I
agree that a process needs to be followed, but does that process preclude
culling potential position candidates from this list (or any such list)?  I
hope not.  Whether or not one thinks a resume is appropriate within this
type of forum (it's obviously debatable), I would hope that in this day and
age, a person would utilize every reasonable outlet available, if need be,
in order to find a position.  After all, all it takes is one person to see
a resume on a listserv and call that potential candidate for an interview.

     on this list?"

     I consider them spam and ignore them.  We are required
     to follow a process to hire, and I can't imagine very
     many potential employers would hire from such a
     posting.  Certainly those of us in the public -
     government sector in the USA have to advertise widely,
     etc., to satisfy legalities.
