I posted a similar query last January and received many useful responses.
You can review the discussion in  the museum-l archive for January 5-9,
1998.  Personally I am now using Minicad on my Mac.  I am quite satisfied
with the both the learning curve and the capabilities of the program.

I know that some architecture software can be used in exhibit
design but does it exist a good software specifically for museum
exhibition ??
