A great model for a scholars-in-residence program is the Pennsylvania
Historical and Museum Commission in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The annual
program provides support for full-time research in the collections of the
State Museum of Pennsylvania, State Archives, and/or the twenty-six historic
sites throughout the state.

Information is available on the PHMC website. Linda Shopes is the contact

The National Hispanic Cultural Center of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New
Mexico recently initiated a scholar in residence program as well. It is
administered by the Research and Literary Arts division of the museum.

Subject: Scholar in Residence/ Institutes

Does anyone have any experience with setting up scholar - in residences or
Research Institute(s)?

We are in the process of renovating the Adlai Stevenson Home and considering
partnering with a local university to develop a research institute or
scholar -in-residence program.

Any models or ideas?
