Thank you Veronika for the nice advertisement for the Smithsonian's
National High School Internship Program.

I regret to inform you (and the rest of museum-l) that funding
reallocations within my office have led to the program's suspension for
the foreseeable future. This program was the only Smithsonianwide
internship program solely for precollegiate students, although students
older than sixteen may apply for internship positions at an individual
Smithsonian museum, office, or research institute. For information
regarding these internships you can explore the Smithsonian web site:
www.si.edu and click on the icon "Smithsonian and You." In this area,
you can find descriptions of both volunteer and intern opportunities at
the Institution.

If anyone has any questions regarding Smithsonian internships, you can
either contact me at [log in to unmask] or by phone 202/357-4542 OR
Elena Mayberry at the Center of Museum Studies at [log in to unmask]
