The Morton Arboretum seeks a motivated, energetic, customer service
oriented individual to lead its dynamic program of Visitor Services and
Membership.

General Summary: Responsible for outreach to current and potential
members and visitors. Develop and maintain high standards of exceptional
service to Arboretum members and visitors. Manage and supervise daily
operations of Visitor Services and Membership. Design and implement
long-range planning for Visitor Services and Membership.  Work to
stimulate Arboretum visitation and membership through on-site and
off-site promotions, mailings, speaking engagements, and special events.

Job Qualifications and Requirements:  Bachelors degree in museum
management, communications, public relations, or related field.
Verifiable employment record and experience in public service.
Experience with the management of museum visitor services and/or
membership programs desirable. Experience in public speaking. Must have
outstanding oral and written communication skills.

Must be able to interact with the public in a courteous and patient
manner. Ability to energize staff to achieve excellence in public
service. Must have excellent administrative and organizational skills to
handle a variety of activities simultaneously and effectively.

The Morton Arboretum is a 1,700-acre outdoor museum with more than 3,600

kinds of trees, shrubs, and other plants from around the world in its
plant collections and display gardens, as well as 900 acres of natural
areas.  Only 25 miles west of Chicago, the Arboretum has more than
335,000  visitors annually and has a membership of more than 15,000.
