Personally, I appreciate the breadth of the topics discussed here.  While
this is an active list, it is not as active as some.
 
One key to effective use of an active list is the careful choice of subject
during the composition of any message.  Busy readers can then make the
choice of wholesale deletion of messages which they believe are not of
interest to them prior to browsing through the incoming mail.  If we keep
courtesy to readers in mind while we compose subjects to our messages, much
of the problem may be eliminated.
