MANAGING DIRECTOR - PRESTIGIOUS NEW YORK GALLERY For our renowned art
gallery client, specializing in 19th Century through contemporary American
art, we are seeking a Managing Director.  The successful applicant will
oversee all aspects of this major and important New York gallery including
oversight of all gallery departments: Sales; Research; Client Relations;
Exhibitions; Finance/Accounting; Registration, etc.; managing and supporting
a respected and sophisticated workforce of 45 staff; expanding and
maintaining a substantial client base of institutional and private
collectors and continually working to improve and enhance client relations;
reviewing and overseeing all vendor and independent advisor relationships
and related contracts; initiating and reviewing all aspects of PR, special
events and public programming; oversight of HR functions and addressing
related internal concerns; oversight of payroll, invoicing, accounts
payable, investments, taxes and insurance as well as any necessary legal
compliance issues; manage and oversee the maintenance and development of the
gallery space, storage rooms and offices;  other duties as required.
The ideal candidate will have at least 8-10 years experience in art gallery,
auction house, or museum administration/management and excellent
organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills.  BA required.
Detailed knowledge of American art from the 19th Century through the present
strongly desired.  Salary negotiations begin at 200K with incentives and
