I think you start mucking around in muddy waters when you make assumptions
like that.  They're way too general and don't take into account a whole
host of factors such as why African Americans Studies was created as a
field in the first place, which disciplines are more acceptable of
difference, etc.  Follow my line of thinking.  This would be great as a
real discussion.
