Regarding the original question of regarding taking pictures/using pictures
of children, visitors, etcetera-

(apologies if someone already suggested this)- but many large museums post
a sign at the entrance (usually as part of a single sign that lists details
of all sorts of policies that have to be posted- stroller policies, no
food, private property & right to remove, etc.) that states something to
the effect that
"The museum occasionally has staff photograph events, activities, and
visitors to the museum for the purpose of promoting the institution to our
members and the public at large. Visitors entering the premises consent to
be photographed for these purposes."

Just a catch-all phrase. Of course if someone asks one of our staff
photographers not to photograph them, they won't.
