REQUEST FOR "EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST"

from all qualified museum professionals familiar with the writing of
collection management ploicies.

The Heritage Properties branch, Ministry of Small Business, Tourism and
Culture, wishes to formalize a Branch collections management policy to
cover all of its sites.  General areas to be considered would include, (but
not be limited to):

        A.  Acquisition of Collections
                -legal and ethical issues
                -acquistion criteria
                -appraisal for income tax purposes
                -cultural property certification

        B.  Documentation of Collections

        C.  Deaccessioning

        D.  Loans

        E.  Use of Collections
                -includes full development of tierage concept and levels

        F.  Care of Collections
                -includes production of Collections Management Manual

        G.  Collections and Exhibitions
                -includes production of Exhibits Policy and Procedures
                 Manual

The development process will include meetigs with site management staff
from Heritage Properties Branch's three regions.
