Just recently, I had some correspondence with the Keeper of the Muniments at Westminster Abbey. It seems as if they are charged with caring for the Abbey's archives and historical records, all the way down to those documents dealing with interior sculptures and sepulchers.

This term is used throughout the United Kingdom, so perhaps some of our
colleagues on the other side of the pond can elaborate...but I believe a
keeper is analogous to a curator or a collections manager...not certain
