Kathleen Lehman:
We added a planetarium to the Children's Museum of Virginia completed in
1994 under phase one. You can contact them and I am sure that they will
have allot of information. It was a joint project with the school system
as they had no space for the new planetarium and we were able to remove
some of the second floor to make room for the dome. There number is
757-393-8983.

Hello Listers,

A rather large topic here, but I would like to hear from anyone who has
a
planetarium as part of their museum. How does it fit into your museum's

mission? Do you only give astronomy shows or do you use the dome for
shows on
other topics? Who is your primary audience (special groups or general
public)? I would just like to hear what role the planetarium plays in
the
museum field or anything else you have to say about the planetarium
world.

I am currently a college senior and would eventually like to work in a
planetarium.

Thanks in advance!

Kathleen Lehman
