Dear List,

Some museums have Customer Charters in which museums promise visitors a lot
of things. On the other hand the visitor has to 'promise' something too. By
bying a ticket the visitor excepts the terms and conditions of the museum:
not to smoke etc, not to damage objects, etc... You can compare it with the
terms and conditions in public transport that are billed in buses, subway,
trams, etc (no icecream, no bikes, etc). Do you know museums who have
officially formulated these conditions? And where are they published? In
the museum? (in a condensed version?).
The Dutch Museums Association published recently an outline of terms and
conditions for visitors in Dutch Museums (see for the English version:
www.museumvereniging.nl/algemeen/uitgave/Museumwijzer/mw299eng.html), but I
don't know examples from other countries. I scrutinized Museum Websites but
I have not found a museum or a museum association that speaks about terms
and conditions for visitors........Are the Dutch an exception? I don't
believe that.

Thanks for your help
