Well, I can sympathize, but am honestly happy that they didn't extend the
deadline any more.  Even so, we spent three extra days working on NEH when
we should have been moving on to the next proposal.  We do have a much
stronger proposal now, but now we'll have to work even longer hours to
make all the upcoming deadlines.

I would think that if you haven't even looked at the guidelines yet, a
couple more weeks is not likely to make a big difference.

Fortunatly, when we noticed the budget process beginning to stall back in
October/November, we called to get all our major questions answered.
And, we did have a bit of a headstart -- we were going to submit last
year, but extensive comments on our preliminary convinced us to regroup
and wait for the next deadline.
