Stacey, Children's Museum of Indianapolis as well as the Cinergy
Children's Museum in Cincinnati have great foam rocks. These were not
made in house by us, but were done by an Ohio based group, Boss Display
Corp (bossdisplay.com). I believe they actually subcontracted out the
job, but could probably put you in touch with the group. They are SUPER
sturdy and dishwasher safe, as well as bleachable. They are made from
the same material as car dashboards.

Give me a call if you need more info.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Foam rocks

Hello,

I'm an exhibit designer with AldrichPears Associates in Vancouver. We
are
currently designing a mining gallery in which there is an interactive
children's section where they can shovel rocks into carts and flumes
etc.
I'm having some difficulty tracking down retailers and/or manufacturers
of
foam rocks and was hoping some one in the museum world could help.

Please let me know if you have any leads.

Thanks,
