Hello!

On the back of one of our photographs, there is a
stamp that says "This telephoto was transmitted over
wires of the Bell System."

Does anyone know that means and how that worked?  And
when it was?

The subject of the photo dates to the 1920s, but that
(obviously) doesn't mean it was transmitted then.  I
can't really tell the age of the print.
