I loved your post re: librarians and museums.  I am a certified archivist
and a museum collections manager.  I have an M.A. in American Studies and
am in the final stages of completing an MLS.  You are so right!
 
Cataloging and librarianship, unless you specialize in the area of
cataloging, is not longer the work of the professional librarianship.
It is information management and learning how to customize (tailor)
information to the needs of the patron/client!
