The Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum is seeking an Assistant Business
Manager.  This position reports to the Business Manager.

Job duties include preparing financial reports that conform to Generally
Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and changing financial report formats
to conform to the new Financial Accounting Standard Board (FASB)
requirements.  Additional responsibilities are to prepare supporting
journal entries for financial statements, analyzing accounts, verifying
expenses and income, entering payroll, preparing appropriate journal
entries and internal reports, as well as supervising a staff accountant.

Requirements for this position include a B.S. in accounting, the ability to
use Macintosh and IBM compatible computers, computerized spreadsheets, word
processors, databases, accounting packages and electronic mail.  Five or
more years of accounting and supervisory experience is also required.
Candidates must have high accounting and analytical skills as well as good
verbal, written and interpersonal skills.  In addition, the ability to meet
deadlines and to handle multiple tasks is essential.
