Hi, James,
I can give you a similar "lost and found" item story...  A professor at my
graduate school was out walking the banks of the Washington River in North
Carolina one day back in the 1980s and found a ROMAN COIN eroding out of
the bank.  Wouldn't THAT give you pause for thought?
