Cultural Resource Preservationist II ($37,296-$53,292 annual)

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks, is seeking a qualified applicant to fill its Cultural Resource Preservationist II position for its Resource Management and Interpretation Program located in Jefferson City, Missouri. 

Successful applicant will serve as the Missouri State Parks Registrar who will be responsible for the oversight and preservation of the system’s 175,000+ object collection at its facilities throughout the state.  Qualified applicant will primarily be responsible for maintaining the PastPerfect collections database, object accessioning and cataloging, processing gift agreements and incoming/outgoing loans, training staff in using software and in proper collections management practices, assisting with the organization of an archaeological collection, and leading collections disaster planning in the division.

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 15 earned credit hours in one or a combination of the following: History, Archaeology, Anthropology, Historic Preservation, or Museology (Museum Studies); and three or more years of experience in historic research or writing, preservation planning, architectural survey, real estate development of historic properties, archaeological investigation, anthropology, or related historic and/or cultural resource preservation activities. 

Candidates with at least two years experience as a Cultural Resource Preservationist I will be strongly considered. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Comprehensive knowledge of PastPerfect software.
• Comprehensive knowledge of standard artifact cataloging, documentation, conservation, and handling techniques.
• Working knowledge of archaeological collections management.
