I am writing another article for SCULPTURE magazine--this time on
innovative responses that alternative spaces and alternative museums
have been making to the changing conditions in the art world and in
contemporary art. This article was prompted by my recent visit to the
newly reopened and renovated P.S. 1 Museum in Long Island City, NY. I
was struck by how audience friendly the place was and how much
participatory art was on display. I am interested in hearing from
anyone connected with an art institution which has done some innovative
programming changes, even cutting or closing. Do you feel that there
are any current trends in exhibitions or other programming at
alternative spaces???? Please respond either on the list or to me
directly at <[log in to unmask]> Thank you for your help.
