Greetings, O curmudgeonly one.  As regards belles lettres, you might be
amused by the experience of one of my calligrapher friends who dubbed her
home-based business "Belles Lettres."  She received more than one message on
her answering machine that started out :  "Uh, hi, is this Belle's Letters?"
