We are also looking to LEDs. One caution. Just because it's a LED does 
not necessarily mean "good" light (no UV, no IR). Some LED's are made to 
emmit high UV for effect. Easy to check (yes UV, no UV) using the color 
change beads from Arbor scientific (arborsci.com). We found intereseting 
LED MR-16 type bulbs and fixtures at Light Craft (800-772-3152).
