The Tech Museum of Innovation
Temporary PT Position Available
Office Assistant

The mission of The Tech Museum of Innovation is to serve as an educational
resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring and
experiencing technologies affecting their lives, and to inspire young
people to become innovators in developing technologies of the future.

The Tech Museum of Innovation is seeking an Office Assistant to assist the
Administrative Assistant for Exhibit Development in supporting the Vice
President, Exhibits and Director of Exhibit Implementation.  The Office
Assistant for Exhibit Development is a temporary 6-month position with no
standard employee benefits.

Responsibilities:
* Provide general clerical services:  e-mailing, faxing, filing,
photo-copying, ordering supplies and maintaining office equipment,
distributing mail, answering telephones, etc.
* Assist the Administrative Assistant for exhibit development in preparing
written correspondence, including contracts, proposals, etc.  Occasional
dictaphone transcription may be required.
* Assist with the preparation and processing of purchase transactions and
documentation including but not limited to expense authorizations and
vendor contracts.
* Assist with maintaining records, filing systems, and computer databases,
including but not limited to: exhibit production expenses and production
schedules, project and budget updates, and vendor correspondence and
company brochures.
* Assist with monitoring timelines and schedules, including but not limited
to:  maintaining meeting calendars, scheduling and confirming appointments,
arranging meetings and setting up facilities, handling phone calls, etc.
* Assist department staff as required.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
* Minimum of two years office experience as a clerical or administrative
assistant.
* Proficient with PC computer software including word processing,
spreadsheets (Excel), e-mail, and Meeting Maker
* Excellent organizational skills
* Ability to work independently on assignments as well as on teams
* Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
* A good sense of humor
* Use of personal car may be required for errands
* Reliable and flexible to the museum's needs

Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday
