The Tech Museum of Innovation
Part-Time Positions Available
IMAX Theater Usher

The mission of The Tech Museum of Innovation is to serve as an educational
resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring and
experiencing technologies affecting their lives, and to inspire young
people to become innovators in developing technologies of the future.

The Usher position has the essential duty of meeting the needs of the
Hackworth IMAX Theater guest. As a front line employee, an usher must
possess the ability to be perfectly gracious and tactful under occasionally
stressful situations. The Usher takes tickets, seats guests in the
Hackworth IMAX Theater, and pays special attention to special guests, as
well as answers questions about IMAX and The Tech.  Ushers will also help
the Console Operator monitor show quality and maintain theater appearance.
The Usher is a part-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Projection
Manager. The Tech currently has seven openings for the  IMAX Theater Usher
position.

Responsibilities:
- Enthusiastically meet the educational and entertainment needs of the
museum guests.
- Work with the IMAX Team, particularly the Console Operator, to present
the best possible theater presentation.
- Explain the ideas and concepts of IMAX technology to museum guests in an
infectious and enthusiastic manner.
-Ticket, escort and seat theater guests.
- Provide outstanding customer services for all guests.
- Assist with special needs guests.
- Coordinate the seating and exiting of theater guests with the cueing of
spotlight and sound system safely and efficiently.
- In the event of an emergency, assist with all necessary crisis management.
- Assist the IMAX team with theater cleaning and maintenance.
- Perform other duties as required.

Hours:  Approximately 20 hours per week

Requirements:
- A commitment to providing strong customer service to museum guests and
co-workers.
- A strong interest in learning about technology and conveying what you
have learned to others.
- IMAX or conventional theater experience helpful.
- Must be willing to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
- Punctual, reliable and flexible to the museum's and guests' needs.
- Ability to safely lift up 75 lbs.
