Dear Mr. Browning,
Although I do not believe we have any cast iron coffins
in our collection, our collections curators may be a
good source for you to contact. Last year, as part of
a special event, we interpreted a military burial from
the 1860s. They did an enormous amount of research on
burial practices, coffins, and caskets.

Contact Ellen Penwell, Curator of Collections, at
[log in to unmask] or Jacob Conrad, Assistant
Curator of Collections, at [log in to unmask]

Sincerely,
Melissa Wraalstad
