Just my own 2cents

My all-time favorite place to eat in Minneapolis (though I am a
Wisconsinite) is the Pickled Parrot Cafe. Excellent fare of all sorts
(i.e. Mexican, Caribbean, Cajun, seafood), a variety of local microbrews,
and a fun atmosphere. They also have outside seating if the weather is
nice enough. It's a couple blocks from the State and Orpheum theatres and
the Target Center, on 5th Avenue I think. Reservations recommended at
dinner rush, especially on weekends.

If you're in St. Paul and near the Science Museum, and you love good Thai
food, don't miss Ruam Mit, on St. Peter between 10th and 11th streets.
It's small and a little grungy, but the food is great and prices are
reasonable. It's where we science museum folk go for Thai. Very busy at
lunch during the week. I don't know about weekends.

Then if you're doing a little sightseeing, looking for a drive in the
country, don't miss our breathtaking St. Croix River Valley. Take hwy 36
east out of St. Paul through Stillwater (lots to see, do, and eat there),
then hwy 95 north to either 243 east into Osceola or farther north to 8
east into Taylors Falls and St. Croix Falls. The latter will give you an
excellent bluff-top view of the river valley, with spots to stop and take a
gander. If you really want to see the river valley, stop in at Interstate
Park on the Wisconsin side and hike the bluffs. Then if you happen to be
in Luck, Wisconsin, don't miss the Calderwood Lodge. Excellent American
fare including steaks and seafood of all sorts, at a 1920's era "resort"
with rock walls and a pub style atmosphere. Or, if you don't wish to
travel that far into our wonderful state, the Dalles House in St. Croix
Falls always pleases the palate.

Ok, so it's a little more than 2 cents, but how often do I get to introduce
1000 people to my home state?

Hope you have the time to enjoy,
Bill
