Response posted for Claudia J. Berg, Curator of Exhibits,
State Historical Society of North Dakota:

Two such "exhibits on wheels" that I am aware of in North
Dakota were produced by the North Dakota Museum of Art and
Plains Art Museum. The ND Museum of Art traveled a
converted semi-trailer truck throughout the Great Plains,
the theme was contemporary American Indian art. This
project took place several years ago and no longer exists.
The contact is Laurel Reuter, Director of the ND Museum of
Art in Grand Forks, ND, 701-777-4195. The second project,
which is still in use, is again a converted semi-trailer
truck produced by the Plains Art Museum in Fargo, ND. The
truck travels to communities in North Dakota and Minnesota
with regional contemporary art. Contact Jane Gudmundson,
Director of Education, Plains Art Museum, 701-293-0903.
Both projects were exceptional in the quality of the
exhibitions and programming.

Another person to contact is the exhibits person at the
Kauffman Museum, Bethel College, North Newton, KS. He has
done extensive work with traveling exhibits in a van. Sorry
I don't have a name and number readily available.
