Can you suggest any published source of information about black servants / house staff in late eighteenth century England, or anyone else who might know.

A colleague is currently developing live interpretation for the public rooms in a stately home. Theyıre going to have actors taking the role of servants and playing out short vignettes in the rooms which shed light on the Chippendale furniture and social values in the late eighteenth century.

One of the actors is of Asian descent and is interested to address the visibility of black people in history in his piece . There are no specific accessible records for house so we will have to rely on more general research.

I'd be very grateful if you have time to point me in the direction of any key texts (or people) if there are any you know of?
